The one great place for chicken lovers is kebab magic. I have been to their east end branch, but my frequent is the one in RV road opp to vijaya college. The place is most famous for takeaways, i used to find the ppl standing in Q's on Friday/Saturdays nights to takeaway their fav. rolls. grill chickens and kebabs. This is a fast food chain run by some mallu Uncle, who claims they specialise in Arabic tastes - agreed, the chicken rolls they make are really more Arabic.
The Executive Biriyani' which they serve mostly during lunch time is a big hit. You can see lot of executives, who roam all along the city braving the sun, smoke and traffic, hit this place for lunch, I hav seen both east end and RV road branches filled with marketing executives, college kids and nearby techies flocking arnd for lunch(you can find lot of ppl from sonata software in the RV road eatery).
Executive biriyani consists of Biryani rice, one Parota, one chicken leg piece, one pice of chicken 65, one boiled egg, and a glass full of Grape juice. The combination provides full justice to the hungry stomach and also the wallet - thats the main part to be left satisfied for most of the executives - this combo comes for just Rs:55/-. Only the veggie executives are left with no choice here :0.
The other best thing you get here in the evenings are the different chicken rolls..'Shawarma' rolls are their speciality. Chicken and butter shows no difference in a tasters mouth.. they give a juicy feel and melts in you throat. Man. their rolls are really grt!. Every time i taste their rolls, i cant control of 'waanaa more' thing..
Usually i spent some minutes watching the chef in action. Chicken is hung in some vertical rod and they are slowly roasted as it is rotated. The trained chef chops off some minute bits of the slow roasted flesh and adds some spices and onion to it, thats it the main part is ready. Then he takes the smooth waffer like roti, lavishly puts some butter on it, weave it all along the roti, put the main part over that and the roti is rolled up. here comes your 'rolls' - delicious.
They also serve the famous Grill chickens, though this is quite decent here, i feel there is a still more better place to have those Full grills, will write about that soon.
