Although the nights are still cold in Bangalore, sunny days are coming soon, indicates the bright and sultry late afternoons. I feel this is the apt time to acknowledge that im a dead slave :).. yes really im a DEAD SLAVE.. sounds like a oxymoron? death means independence and how can be one a dead slave.. oh..oh.. ok. lets just stop it ter.. PERIOD.. no more digging in to those heavy subjects, that makes the part above my neck to tremble.. this blog is for the parts below my neck :) (செவ்விக்குணவு இல்லா பொழுது சிறிது வயிற்றுக்கும் ஈயப்படும்.. நம்ம விஷயத்துல இது தலைகீழ்.. sorry to non tamilians)
Hope ardent foodies like my wud have guessed abt what im blabbering about.. yeah..!!.. im talking abt those 'Hot Chocolate fudge' and 'Death by Chocolate Sundae' served at the Corner House.
For the first time i went ter, i was already flooded with tips abt handing the chocolate death.. but, as usual at the last second, i ordered for a Hot Chocolate fudge.. the second i tasted it, thats it, they made me sign a life time deed.. im going to be a slave for it, for ever.. for ever.. Im still hunting to all other possible ice cream parlors to find a best master who cud release me from this culprit and take this slave to his behest,, but alas, i cud never find a master who cud make me sign a Slave deed.. :)
the very next day i was forced to get in to Corner house and this time i ordered for the Death. Death By Chocolate (DBC) is the famous giant size package u get in corner house.. it was the cause for the death of the slave.
DBC is a great composition, just like that of 'Saleel choudrys' melodies.. It consists of three big, really big, scoops of our very own regular vannila ice cream, with lot of thick black forest cake spread over it. This composition is soaked with lavish amount of chocolate sauce, which is topped with cherries. The trap here is u can order for extra chocolate sauce also, which will give u a complete death, so u dont want to lice again one more 'Jenmam'.
When the death is presented before me after all the above arrangements, i just stared at it for some time before taking a first bite, where to start ... I took the first bite.. that was like peeping in to heaven, creamy vannila on black forest or black forest coupled with the vannila, wat ever it may be.. it was heaven, slowly the subsequent bites, chocolate takes you for granted.. the whole things looks brown and the black forest and vannila is submerged in the chocolate sauce now. your intake speed is slowed down now.. after the first spoon, u just feel like gulping the whole thing in one go, but every next spoon relaxes you and gives a soothing effect, you feel like finishing that whole thing is going to be a tough exercise.. but, i finished that of with determination.. i just felt satisfied like 'smelling the greens and feeling the breeze at the peak after having a tough trek'.
I bet, if you are taking your partner for a first date ter, then ter are lot of chances for that casual date to turn out in to a romantic dating... i warn u, dont ever blame DBC for ur lifelong worries then :)
dont ever go to corner house, if u are in a hurry .. the one more thing, dont ever go ter after ur meal.. go with empty stomach and when u have lot of time.. make time after all for our soul. You feel little high after having DBC, like the highlanders best scotch.. so dont ever rush out and get in to the mad traffic untill it settles down..
I have been to Corner house in MG/residency road, koramangala and Jayanagar.. i felt the MG road and jayanagar places are too best.. they have couple of more outlest in bangalore.. but man.. even if the ambiance is not well.. served menu will summon you to heavens..
