Kamat - bugle rock

If u long for real north karnataka veg food and jowar rotis, the best place in south banalore is Kamat - bugle rock. They do serve north indian and chinese, but north karanataka food is at its best here. The whole second floor is reserved for that. There is a stage where classical music concers are held, which can accomadate a decent 30+ ppl, mostly who waits for the turns to get a table. :)

Jowar meals is the speciality here. they are served in plantain leaves. As u enter the place, u'll be recieved by a ever smiling hostess in a traditional silk saree.. cool hostess in hi-fi bangalore. The waiters are ver friendly.

Meals is served course after course, they start with Jowar rotis, yennegai and a brinjal curry, accompanied by salads, raitas and palya. Main course comes with white rice (karnataka ponni) drumstick sambhar and rasam. Not like other unlimited meals serving places, here the waiter keep an eye on ur table and refill everything in a astonishing pace :).

spl. meals comes with some extra dessers usually a holige, bajji குடைமிளகாய் பஜ்ஜி and to windup we have fruit salad with ice cream. then comes banana and paan in very traditional style. damn! u feel like heaven after having a full stomach, on a lazy afternoon.

The place is in Basavanagudi, just diagonally opposite to BMS engg college, next to Bull temple.

Dont ever take your date here.. tis is a place for lazy afternoons with family or friends, ur date may not feel romantic here :)

A delux north karanataka meals at about 100rs in this peaceful place is a delight for sure.

Good post. Bugle Rock Park attracts hundreds of scientists and geologists who come to the park to look at the Bugle Rock. It is a sudden and abrupt rise of a gneiss rock formation, dated to be around 3000 million years old. The Geological Survey of India deems this to be a monument of great import for research studies based on the evolution of the earth. The watchtower built on this rock commans beautiful panoramic views of the Bangalore city. This is one of the four watchtowers built at the four corners of the city, by Kempe Gowda II to demarcate the boundaries. Check out all about Bugle Rock.
