Hyd Mahal located on Church street serves Hyderabadi and North indian food. It is located alongside the RR restaurant. (its part of the famous RR Andhra restarunt, i hope)
The food is quite tasty, but the best thing about this place is their biryani. Though its not the perfect Hyderabadi biriyani, i'll say its the closest to the Original Nawabi Biriyanis served in Hyderabad. A perfect blend of spices and flavor, i wud say its little more spicy, but still it adds to the taste. The ambience is good, dim lighted, suitable for date too..
But the service is not in par with ambiance and the taste, they misses a dish each in all the three courses we ordered.
we went for the regular murg shorbha (chicken soup) and kali mirchi murg for starters. I just loved the shorba, other than all those soups served in most of the eateries as clear soup, sweetcorn.. $%%^@!$, this is no nonsense soup, just a tasty spicy chicken soup . (It just reminded me the taste of soups we get in rural places)
We ordered the mutton biryani, ymm.. it was damn good.. with clear mix of spices perfectly cooked cubes of lamb.. slurrp... it was really really gud.. other than those biriyanis served in nagarjuna's or nandhini's.. again i'll say.. it was close to the perfect. :)
We had a taste of Boneless chicken/Nawabi Murgh Roti/Lassi .. nothing to blame.. i wud say. A good decent restaurant, in all ways [taste, ambiance, economy].
If you just enter in the church street from brigade, just as soon as u get in to the street u'll see on the right hand side, HydMahal, sitting alongside the other well knwon local restaurant Andhra RR.
good service and nice ambience
Hyd Mahal @ Church st.
Samarkand @ Infantry road
One of the best places to go for North West Frontier Cuisine in Bangalore is Samarkand. They serve some awsome foodhere. They are very cool right from from attending to phone bookings to allotment of tables, service, food, ambience etc. etc. Feel like going to the place again and again, the whole team takes care of you very well, from entrace(hostess) to the waiters. The Manager of this place is very pleasant and capable man, who handles toughest of the toughest problems very neatly.
The sheek kababs they serve are the best in the town, the chutneys too, they serve with the starters are heavenly. The ambience also adds to the flavours :). sittting in a dark hole like atmoshpere in afghan settings and having the kababs with your fav drink can make you high than expected ;)
The mutton biriyani they serve here is the real afghan biriyani, no other places in bangalore can boast of a afghan biriyani, they are all look alikes, but in samarkand u get the real one. My friend ordered for dum pulav.. and man it was also so cool.. i genrelly hate having pulav' at speciality restarunts but this was a pleasent shock, they have made it really yummy.
Nalli ka salan made my day.
But i wud suggest something for veggies, avoid this place.. this is a heaven for Redmeat lovers.
